News!-New Rating System And Avril Month

Okay, so after looking at the rating system I have, I feel like it's too confusing, so the new rating system will be numbers /5 instead of letters out of /A+.

Letter Number
A++(and beyond)= 5/5

A+ = 4.5/5

A = 4/5

B+ = 3.5/5

B = 3/5

C+ = 2.5/5

C = 2/5

D = 1/5

F = 0/5

So, as an example, the past two reviews would be (on the new system) 5/5 for the Best Damn thing, and 2.5/5 for Year Zero. I'm pretty sure you've already figured that out. So enjoy the new reviews.

Also, This month is Still Avril month, although I have nothing left to review, she'll stilkl have song of the day, and at this point, I'm going to already add her CD as "The Best Of April" although I will soon review Tori Amos and Arctic Monkeys; I doubt they'll beat her.

CD Review: Nine Inch Nails-Year Zero

The electronic fueled NIN have taken the world by storm by the releases of their CD's. And after massive success their seventh CD to date "Year Zero" hits CD stands all over the world. The band (now focused on one single member, Trent Rezor) has seemed to lose their awesome edge. "With Teeth" was a fantastic Debut from Nine Inch Nails in '05. The songs were powerful and really thought out. Something this album doesn't seem to continue to prudly represent. Apparently, this CD was based on trent Rezor's view of the United States in 2022. Considerably, everyone cares about the United States to some extent, but why do we have to listen to someone who writes music for a living's prediction on how the American Government will act in 15 years from now. Well, a CD is based on lyrics, not just sound. The lyrics are interesting, but at the same time, they lose focus of the original NIN songs. Over the past two years, we were all left with "Right Where It Belongs" as the last NIN song until this CD's release. Well, fairly enough, that was probably the best we will ever hear from NIN. This CD packs 16 tracks in an hour of good lyrics, but misused beats and no climaxes. But not only this, apparently Rezor has a plan to create a movie based off of this CD (also called "Year Zero"). So you can't help but feel this CD was rushed in order to work oin another project. You sort of get that vibe when you listen to the songs. Each song begins to get a climax, but drops and makes you want to push the > > (fast-forward) button on your CD player, in hopes that the next song will not be as unsuccessful. The problem is, you'll most likely be doing this for 13 or so songs. Considering only about 3 songs on this CD are good. To me, an opinion is not worth putting unless you're trying to warn people. And to an extent, this isn't a warning. It was a message that was written too fast, so it came out sloppy and unattractive to the human ears.
Final Review: C+
Lyrics make songs, but at the same time, the song has to make the lyrics. The best and most quickly rushed thing since Oprah's "The Secret". Which did sell...Sadly...
Best Songs: Capital G, Survivalism, My Violent Heart, God Given

CD Review: Avril lavigne-The Best Damn Thing

Send your fists into the air and defy! Avril Lavigne's most anticipated album is here and it's BIG! Not only did I pick up one of the last copies at my local Best Buy (of the last shipment), but it's seemed to be predicted that these album sales will sky-rocket! But is the album going to have a lot to live up to...? Hell Yeah! It's been three years since Avril's CD " Under My Skin" hit stores. Making a long wait hard to overcome. Not only that but Avril has a lot to live up to if she indeed (which she sort of has) chooses to change her image. Well, the Skater Girl from Napanee, Ontario, Canada is seriously packing some heat on the release. It's got a great variety of powerful ballads and fun songs. So before you buy this CD, I suggest dance lessons; cuz you're going to want to use 'em. Sure, her older fans may not be impressed by the new change, but she's attracting younger kids, teenagers and dragging her fans back into her magnetic field. Although the leak was present over the past 2 weeks, the loyal fans (like me) still bought the CD. And I encourage all to do the same. The lyric book is fantastically put together and the CD is full of intricate stuff. But now, let's get to the music.

1. Girlfriend - The song that struck the world by phenomenal storm is still reigning over the charts and hasn't stopped. This song has been critically damaged, but has still made it through. Avril may be acting different here, but it's fun to do that (this is the reason she would be an awesome actress). This song deserves an A+

2. I Can Do Better - Well, it's god damn cathcy that's for sure. I Can Do Better is the snooty Avril we have come to know for so long. This is basically saying, who gives a fk if I find someone hotter! A+

3. Runaway - A mastermind and top Avril song ever for me. It reminds me of the old days from "Let Go". She wants to be free. This is the Avril we know. Who said she ever changed? A+

4. The Best Damn Thing - Okay, this is different, but catchy. The song is fun to listen to and makes you want to dance all around your room. The song states "I'm the best damn thing that your eyes have ever seen". Making this song the best damn thing that my ears have ever heard. A+

5. When You're Gone - A great ballad from Avril. It sticks to her true taste. It's quite a good song. it's also the next single, which is sort of odd to me but is worthy of the title. Hopefully we see more of these in Avril's next CDs. A+

6. Everything Back But You - "Bitch, slut, psycho babe" is the most memorable ine from this song. Tells you something, shouldn't it? No, actually this song is awesome and, like I Can Do Better, is the normal rocking Avril we all know and love. Give me those defiant fists people! A+

7. Hot - A great song. Although there seems to be a climatic error, it's something that would be used for slow motion, giving you a feeling of sexiness. Ew..did I just say that. W/e. A+

8. Innocence - Awesomely Awesome Ballad that totally outshines "When you're Gone's" power. Probably the best song on the CD, and should be thought of as a future single. A+ and beyond...

9. I Don't Have To Try - Okay, I have to admit, the begging part where she does that rapping thing is a little creepy, but the resy of the song makes up for it. It's all about not having to try in a relationship. Notice how Whibley didn't produce this one LOL. A+

10. One of Those Girls - This song is another that tops the list. It's phenomenally catchy and brings back more of Avril's old flavor to the table. Awesomeness in a song. Woot! A+

11. Contagious - Okay, this is also seriously catchy and fun (get those dancing shoes out). But, the song is only 2:10, leaving me to ponder if this song is long enough to take the top of her list. Surely if it was longer it could've been a single. But songs shouldn't be so short. Oh Well! love it anyway. A+

12. Keep Holding On - This is a good song, just it's a little old. It's sort of worn off with all the promotion and such and such. Although it's good, it's not up to the rest of the Cd's standards. A

BEST SONGS (IN ORDER):

1. Innocence

2. the Best Damn Thing

3. Runaway

4. One of Those Girls

5. Contagious

6. I Can Do better

7. Hot

8. When You're Gone

9. Everything Back But You

10. I Don't Have To Try

11. Girlfriend

12. Keep Holding On

Final Review: A++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

This is the best damn thing that your ears have ever heard.

Old Avril CD Review: Under My Skin

Avril Lavigne has made a lot of marks in her music career. This one seemed to be more powerful than others. Why? It shows a dark side and a fun side to vril. Can those two type of genres mix when it comes to music? Well yes and no. I mean, the songs are somewhat randomly placed. I think maybe the sad songs or dark songs shouldve been first, then the happy songs. But does that affect the overall CD. No. Not for people who like the shuffle feature. So, I will review the CD itself. Under My Skin, is epic. That's all I have to say. It's predecessor does not have the power that these lyrics contain. Although the songs off the first CD are great, they don't match to the power of this one.

Old Avril Single Review: He Wasn't

Okay, so, The SNL performances were awesome (I'd like to correct that she didn't sing "When you're Gone" but "I Can Do Better". They were fantastic. Now listening to this song, I realize something. Everyone says that Avril has taken a dramatic change. But listen to He Wasn't. It was the last single off of "Under My Skin" and it has almost the same sound of "Girlfriend" & "I Can Do Better". So technically, I call her transfromation an evolution. This song is so much fun. It may be a little short, but it's fun and rebellious. That's just Avril. Sure, it's not as forward as "Girlfreind" is, saying "I want to be your girlfriend". This is more like, "I would never in my whole lifetime, even think aout being your mother effin girlfriend". So ya, a bit of change, but it's the style that matters. Avril truly represents her-new-self here.

Final Review: A+

Awesome song by Avril!

Avril News!

So, to promote her next CD, Avril will be performing on SNL (Saturday night Live) tonight!

So, if you're a fan, support her by watching. I'm pretty sure she'll be singing "Girlfriend" and "When You're Gone". So make the popcorn and get the couch ready, cuz tonight's gunna be a good one. Alos on the show tonight, "Disturbia" star Shia LaBeouf. Also, if you've never watched this show, and are only tuning in for Avril, beware, the show has lost power, so the skits aren't that great. Just wait for the Wekkend Update or TV Funhouse. Those are the best weekly skits. And don't forget to watch Avril!

Old Single Review: Nobody's Home

Okay, so the sad and dark side of Avril comes out. This song is so perfectly dramatic. It makes you want to sing along. The emotions come alive quickly and sorrowfully. It takes the emotion out of everything else and storms it into an emotional ballad of its own. Not only that, but there's a good message in it too. Kid's Help Phone sponsored this video for kids living on the street (I have no idea how they could see it). So it was a powerful essage and emotion. This song is still played on the radio and is still stricken as fantastic!

Love it! And nothing to live up to!

Old Avril Single Review: My Happy Ending

ONE WORD: BEST AVRIL SINGLE EVER (WELL 4 WORDS BUT W/E)

FINAL REVIEW: A+++++++

Old Avril Single Review: Don't Tell Me

So. Avril starts out her new CD with a new song. This one wasn't the best choice, though. It's catchy and fun, but compared to other singles, it doesn't live up to her nature. At the time, I was about 10 years old. Barely Walking yet.... I loved the song. Was it because I loved Avril? I don't think so. I think this song has something inside of it that's worth finding, but it will turn down first-time listeners. Still, the song is about the pressures of sex. Kinda good to talk about, but not when you're twenty years old. Still, Avril's female independece shows off quickly on this song. Too bad she got married after 2 years of dating someone. Then changing her appearence. This is not really what Avril has lived up to...

Final Review: B

Good song, not good dedication by Avril.

Old Avril CD Review: Let Go (2002)

Okay lots of reviews today! Starting with this one. Let Go was Avril's debut CD. It was very powerful back then, and still powerful to this date. I love thios CD, even better than the second CD, now thast I listened to it again. Avril has serious power in this CD and i think I understand the point of her 3rd CD. She's made her mark, now shes gunna pretty it up a little.

Old Avril Single Review: I'm With You

Again, another powerful ballad from Avril Lavigne. This is what kept her shining in the music industry. But people no longer see the sad side of Avril, is it because of the new look? The new sound? Or her releasing faster singles? Well, don't worry. The next single is called "When You're Gone" and its a powerful ballad. Which shows that Avril hasn't given up on her soft side. Plus, who can forget Keep Holding On? That's on her new CD. Oh and there's still one more fantastic Ballad on "The Best Damn Thing!" called "Innocence" So Avril has a great song here, and still shines with that certain type of music. Finally! This song is great. It totally brings Avril's emotions to life with powerful lyrics and a hollow mood that leaves you crying for more.
Final Review: A+
Avril loves ballads, and she still lives up to making them great!

Old Avril Single Review: Losing Grip

Okay, so this is one of my fave Avril rock-out song. And after hearing the new CD, it seems to me like we'll never see one like this again. Too bad (the CD is still awesome; review on April 17th). So, I consider this song classic. One of the coolest beats to rock out to. When I bought Let Go, this was the first song I listened too. The moment when she became one of my fave artists. Listening to the third CD while typing this review sort of shows me why she still is the best Female Artist (tied with Furtado). So now, when I change songs to Losing Grip, i realize the chnage isn't a bad thing...it's her trying out new kinds of music, and this stands out as the most powerful Rock single she's released and it should stay that way. Woo! Avril..
Final Review: A
Although this is one of the best songs, Avril still has a lot to live up to here.

IDOL RANT!-Gina Glocksen and the A.I Boycot

OKAY! I GIVE UP! I thought I could handle Sanjaya staying in, but when Haley and Gina were left standing and Gina was eliminated, it appalled me! How frikin stupid can the American Public be (no offense)! Sure i predicted her in the bottom 3, but it doesn't mean she should have gone home. This is #$@*&^ crazy! Sanjaya does not deserve to stay, Haley does not deserve to stay; yet Gina goes home. %@*# this! I'm done with this show forever! I can handle Chris Daughtry being eliminated last year because i knew he'd be famous. But Gina doesn't have that same chance because she came in 9TH! It's not just about Gina, it's also the fact that 2 untalented show-wreckers still exist! Sanjaya is a load of crap and his father gets soo Gosh darn excited...it's like the whole family is crazy for thinking their son is worthy of staying in the competition this long. The boycot has started as of now...and the TV world has become complete shit and nonsense. I do this in memory of Gina, Stephanie, Chris Daughtry and all the people who were eliminated by retarted people who think a talentless, heartless person can win American Idol. The game is over. The show has already lost steam and the kettle is running out fast!

American Idol Review: 04/03/07

Okay! Time for another Idol review! Last night's show was interesting, most people did good, but some people (coff!*Sanjaya) weren't at the top of their game. With some information from behind the lines, i have a predicted bottom 3 list. I can tell you already that Sanjaya isn't on it! America! Are you listening, Americal Idol is not rigged! So stop voting for Sanjaya; Howard Stern's message to the public was a ploy to get the show's ratings up! This has become the biggest joke of the year, i feel so bad for everyone who can do amazing with a career; but too bad Sanjaya's in the way!

Single Review: Maroon 5-Makes Me Wonder

(This month isn't all about Avril...so here's a reveiw in between; there will be several)

Well, Well, Well! Maroon 5 is FINALLY BACK! So they hit the world with a new cd after 5 years (released on May 22nd). This is going to have high expectations, considering "Songs About Jane" was literally the best CD of 2002. Does this single live up to my expectations. YA! This is probably the best single so far. The beat is awesome, Levine never sounded better and it is seriously one of the awesomest songs ever! I was sort of sonfused about Levine's voice in the previous CD. Now he's very well adapted to his new surroundings with this beat. He has become a lot more improved and so has the band.

Final Review: A+

Marron 5 are back baby! Nothing here Makes Me Wonder!

Old Avril Single Review: Sk8rboi (Let Go-2002)

Who the hell will forget this song? No one knows~because it has to be one of Avril's best. Not only does this song still ROCK today, but she doesn't contradict her new image with it. In fact, it works well with her new image. She married a Sk8erboi after he broke up with his old girlfriend. Nicely done Avril! You listened to yourself. Lisnin to this song again gets me so excited. It has an awesome beat and never gives up. It seriously is GREAT! The only tiny flaw is the lyrics. They do have meaning but they're a little more childish than heartfelt. Oh! Well! This is an awesome medley from one of the best artist's ever.

Final Review: A+

Not many get an A+, but Avril has proven that this song hasn't given up in her life.

Avril Single Review: Complicated

Well, it's day one of Avril month...And it's April Fool's...I don't believe in April Fool's so here's the REAL review:

So, this was Avril's first EVER single. It's still an awesome song! It's not one of those dumb songs that ends up losing it's touch. I still know all the lyrics and listen to it anytime it comes up. But are there any lowlights; not really unless you look at her evolution. All her other singles were awesome too, and her image has changed so much that this video and song no longer portray what she would think. In fact, she may need to listen to this. The blonde hair, the husband, the girlish look, the tomboyish attitude disappearing...Damn! She's become complicated

Final Review: B+

Avril has changed too much, she needs to go back and listen to her old music. She's too complicated too understand...
