As you may have noticed, there's an MyPod in the corner of the sidebar and right now it's playing BREAK ANOTHA by Blake Lewis. ENJOY THE MUSIC! You can also control it too, and i will add more songs to it as the months go on, based of artists of the month. If i am able to find Blake music from his CD, i may put up some full songs to help his sales out! Or I'll add clips for you to get interested in it.
Idol Winner Finally Delivers-With Minor Faults

4/5
Brian Melo-Livin' It
This season's winner of Canadian Idol (much to my happiness) has finally released his debut CD-"Livin' It" on November 27th. Suprisingly, this is only 1 week after the Americam Idol's CD, which has been worked on since June, while Brian only had started working on it in September. In two months, he's made a fairly engagind CD, especially for a Canadaian Idol, but is it as good as Eva Avila's debut last year? The first song "Shine" starts off slow, but grows into a more rockish tone, and is actually a very good song for a Canadian Idol. The second song "Back To Me" also does the same thing as the previous song. It grows into a rock song, but starts as a slow, pop beat, and it's better than the first song-this is good news. So far, Brian's voice sounds just like it did on Idol, which is really a great thing. If you live in Canada, you'll know the third song. It's called "All I Ever Wanted" and it is the first single, which is an okay song, it could be a little more catchy. The fourth song "Summertime" follows the same exact pattern as all the songs here, a slow beggining and strong chorus. At this point, i wonder where all the creativity has gone. Where are the ballads? My prayers are than answered with one of my favourite songs by a canadian idol; "I Gave You All My Life", which will make a good single, if he chooses it. The song climaxes in the end, but not in a rockish way, in more of a beautiful way, kind of like Kelly's "Sober". The next song is slower, taking the pace down a notch, but is still pleasant to listen to. Than a faster song kicks in, and takes over the CD. The song Livin' It, is definately going to be the next single, in my eyes. Livin It marks a speed up for the next song, Stay, which actually uses electric guitar and bass gutair in the way they were invented for! Stay is most likely the best rock song among these. The next two songs are okay, and than the second single (confirmed) "She Moves Me" kind of sets the state of Canadian idol-ness, and the CD begins to turn into a cliche. Finally, the last ballad ain't too bad, but is Idol-ish.
Overall, the CD is well-done and is worth buying, but take precautions for some cliche music (for Idols).
BEST SONGS: Shine, Stay, I Gave You All My Life, Summertime, Obvious

"Rocking" Out Loud

4.5/5
OneRepublic
Dreaming Out Loud
OneRepublic had their turn as a puppet on "Timbaland presents: Shock Value", but now, their debut CD is here, and it beats out Timbaland's latest CD. The CD is packed with an amazing track of songs ranging from upbeat tempos like "Tyrant" and slow, impacting ballads such as "Come Home". The CD's main strong point is a mix of these two genres, which is perhaps why it is so ingenious. Personally, i enjoy the CDs vibe because of how amazing Ryan Tedder's (lead) vocals are. Not to mention that the original version of "Apologize" is much more enjoyable than Timbaland's modern mix. The CD has no flaws, except for maybe that it could go a little faster, and get more upbeat at the down points. However, the CD is still highlighted with plenty of radio-friendly songs and emotion-stirking music. Don't be surprosed if you see OneRepublic making plenty of music.
The one thing i noticed with this CD is that it sounds similar to The Fray, making it seem less original. Songs like "Won't Stop" are prime examples of the Fray's style. But sometimes that could be a good thing.
BEST SONGS: Come Home, All We Are, Won't Stop, Tyrant, All Fall Down
What I've Missed
I missed lots of things these past few months, so i will briefly summarize what I have thought of music/movie releases from AUG-OCT
August was an awful month for EVERYTHING, and there was nothing worth recognizing in that month, except for a few movies.
September was a better month, with KT Tunstall's "Drastic Fantastic" hitting shelves. Music was slow, but movies picked up their pace with the hilarious, but very dirty, "Good Luck Chuck" and "Superbad" being the most memorable.
October had a bigger set going, as The Killers' "Sawdust" was leaked onto the net, and it really was a good compilation. Movies were again at their prime with horror flicks like "Saw IV" and "30 Days of Night" being 2 of my favourite movies.
Overall, I didn't really miss much, but the holiday season is a perfect place to restart!

I'M BACK!!!
Well, i'm back! I decided to re-open the blog with a harder mind towards things, meaning CDs and Movies won't be getting as many high marks as they used to :P. So now the idea is to do exactly what i did before, but in a better way :). I've also decided to go forward with CROWNING CDS AND DVDS as the best of the year in late December. For now, the November/December artist is none-other than Blake Lewis, and a review for his new CD should be in ANY DAY now. I'm really excited about opening up again and I can't wait to be successful again! :D
